Brand founded (1923) by Raoul Amiel in Philippeville (Skikda, Algeria). The factory employed about 30 persons in the early 1960s when it closed down. In 1988 "GBA Synergie" run by Bernard Amiel (†2008 & Raoul's son) bought back Ropp. He owned the brand a short time until 1991.
