(*) This stamping was left off in Oktober 1918. From this time onward the pipes were marked "DUNHILL" over "LONDON".
The two little circles are some indication on work/pricing/quality. Their precise meaning is not known.
The patent number 5681/12 doesn't exist. The patent number associated with the Innertube is 5861/12 and it seems the marking of this pipe is an error.

The wood of this pipe is coated with 10 karat gold tested by the owner of the pipe (black stone test).
The "Nos" (with an "s") stamping coming after "PATENT" indicates a pipe with a double patent. The first patent number (5861/12) is legible and corresponds to the English Innertube patent. The second is worn out by the gold layer but can only be 119708/17. This patent pattern (5861/12 119708/17) was used in the 1918-1926 period on sandblasted Dunhill pipes.
The patent number PAT.N° 141486/19 on the box (granted in 1920) is compatible with the pipe stampings.
It corresponds to a ventilated box design (see Vercingetorix pipe).
For these reasons the manufacture of this pipe may be situated in the 1920-1926 period of time. A more accurate dating would be risky as to the lack of a year suffix. The gold plated Dunhill pipes were fist mentioned in their 1923 sales brochure.
